Doubling its PXI-based switch offerings for 50Ω and 75Ω applications, National Instruments has introduced 11 rf switches with very low insertion loss and voltage standing wave ratios of less than 1.75 at bandwidth. The modules include 4x1, terminated 4x1, dual 4x1, and 8x1 multiplexers as well as quad SPDT and dual-terminated SPDT general-purpose configurations. The six new 2.5-GHz 75Ω modules are the company’s first switches for high-frequency video applications, such as set-top box testing. The five 2.7-GHz 50Ω modules join NI’s current 10 modules for routing signals between dc and 26.5 GHz, and are well-suited for expanding the channel count of rf generators, like the NI PXI-5671 vector signal generator, or rf analyzers, like the NI PXI-5661 vector signal analyzer. Included are a 100W model with a 3.3V output, 150W models with 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, 28V, 36V, and 48V outputs, and a 200W version with a 36V output. Actual inputs can range from 18V to 36V.
